Iduño raised the hammer and brought it down on the rock with the primer. There was a pop and Sparks few from underneath the hammer.
"That's what sets it off," Iduño said. "But that's not the loud bang their guns make," Kamaq said. "Hold it," Iduño barked, finger raised. "I'm not finished. The primer is set off by the pin, and the primer lights up the powder." Iduño produced a small cloth and emptied it's contents into the rock. The other Karshans looked with wide eyes on a small pile of black-colored powder. "This," Iduño said, "Is what goes boom. Watch" Iduño lit a twig in the lantern and dropped it into the powder. The powder fizzled and flared, disappearing in a fire ball. "What the... That is freaky," Kamaq said. "You say that's not magic. How does it work, then?" Lestro said. "Same way oil burns in a lantern" Iduño said with a smile, "but really fast." "It still didn't go bang, though," Lestro said skeptically. "It has to be bottled up," Iduño said, pulling out a small glass bottle. "This has the powder in it, and I've put a piece of primer under the cork," Iduño said. The others backed away uneasily. "This needle goes through the cork to the primer. All I have to do is drop it right..." Iduño tossed the bottle towards the rock, but missed. The bottle landed in the grass on its side inertly. Iduño's face was flustered and red as he picked it up. "Like this," he said angrily, dropping the bottle mouth-down on the rock. There was a loud bang and the bottle vanished in a fireball the size of a man's head. The other Karshans dropped. Kamaq shrieked. Iduño dropped his hands from shielding his face. "That. Was a loud bang," he said with a smirk. "My go..." Kamaq said. "That's how it works," Iduño said. "Put all that into one of their guns, and the boom has only one place to go, and that's out the barrel. It has nothing to do with them being Hibairu by birth, or the carvings and inscriptions on... Run! Run!" Iduño turned and fled towards the trees. The other Karshans turned to see Hibairu soldiers closing on them fast. "Stop!" Shouted one of the soldiers. "You are all under arrest! Stop them!" ********* "Somebody must have ratted me out, because I covered my tracks really well," Iduño said as he stared into space. He pursed his lips and looked to the side. "I've watched Karshans who robbed and killed go free while they moved me around from one jail to another like a sack of grain. Morons like them get to go home, but you tell people how their toys really work? They make you disappear."
