About the Story
Adriancia Saywa was the top worker in her plantation. She was ambitious and knew how to work the system, but then she got the disease. She was arrested and taken to a secret camp for treatment, but that's when the dreams started. Lee Shau, the being in her dreams, told her that her people, a race of ancient serpents called the Khashong, were the ones who created the disease. Adri met several others in the camp who were having similar dreams, and together, they decided to break out of the camp and ride for the eastern boundaries of Karsha to see what they could find. Now, with Hibairu military units in hot pursuit, they're in a race against time, the elements, and their own minds to get to the Khashong before they are caught.

About the Setting
Karsha is an equatorial colony of the Hibairu empire. Most of the continent grows a cash crop similar to tea called Nebu Shai. It's an Australia-sized continent full of wide-open spaces, outlaws, warlords and wild beasts. It has mountains, prarie land, deserts and rainforests. The Hibairu maintain strict control over most aspects of colony life, constantly asserting their claim of primacy by right of their superior technology, which they claim to be supernatural.
This world was inspired as much by Peru, Argentina and Mexico as it was the American West. The Hibairu empire has many elements of colonial powers of early industrial age, but with aesthetic influences from ancient Egypt and Rome. |
